It all began with writing nerdy headlines for the high school paper.
I help individuals show their best work to the world by editing blog posts, newsletter content, correspondence and—my favorite—full-length books.
My first professional editing experience was a positive one; I worked as a Peer Writing Consultant during college and helped students edit essays and projects. I grew the most as an editor during my time as Editorial Assistant with Joggling Board Press. Their talented staff taught me the intricacies of publishing, ranging from what to do with an unsolicited manuscript to shipping a crate of newly printed books to an independent bookstore.
If you’re looking for a way to improve your writing, I can help with that. If you are a writer who likes hanging out with grammar nerds, we’ll get along great! If you are a little shy around those academic types and just want to string a few sentences together to get your point across, we should chat. I am very respectful of ideas and my suggestions are made with the intent to keep your original thoughts and objectives intact.
I’m a literary nerd with a fondness for binging on the latest non-fiction books. Recent favorites include Joan Didion’s South and West, Laura Vanderkam’s I Know How She Does It, Amy Whitaker’s Art Thinking, and Josh Linkner’s Disciplined Dreaming.

“Chrissy was a real life saver while I wrote my Master’s thesis. While I was stressing over writing, she was able to find all those small typos, grammar mistakes, and phrases that just didn’t flow correctly in each of my chapters. She offered brilliant suggestions that never changed my voice or meaning and improved my writing. If I ever need to write a journal article or another large paper, I will certainly be asking Chrissy to do my proofreading.”
